FLEET MANAGER FOR ENGINEERING CONTRACTOR
Founded in 1973, Acosta Tractors, Inc. is an engineering contracting firm that performs underground utility installation (water, sewer and drainage), complete roadway construction and site development. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to join our team and oversee our fleet operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the fleet, including CAT, John Deere, Komatsu Heavy Equipment etc., as well as pick-up trucks and multiple small tools, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
•Manage the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all equipment and vehicles within the fleet
•Prioritize and coordinates company vehicle and equipment repairs
•Maintain accurate records of vehicle & equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs
•Develop and implement policies and procedures for fleet operations that comply with industry regulations
•Communicate with the field in a timely manner when equipment goes down to get them back up and running
•Ask questions to get details on what needs to be repaired and directs mechanics to make repairs as appropriate
•Conduct research to determine parts needed and orders parts as appropriate
•Establish and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external team members
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within transportation or construction industries
•Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles and equipment
•Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes
•Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders
