WP Davis Excavation LLC is a leading heavy civil construction firm specializing in bridge construction, dam rehabilitation, heavy civil concrete, and complex infrastructure projects throughout Maine and New Hampshire. As our company grows, we are seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee and maintain our fleet of construction vehicles and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring our operations run smoothly, equipment is properly maintained, and downtime is minimized.

Position Overview

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, tracking, and optimization of our company’s fleet. The ideal candidate must be mechanically inclined, have experience in fleet management, and be proficient in fleet management software, such as Tenna. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, and expertise in managing vehicle and equipment life cycles.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Oversee and manage the company’s fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, and support vehicles.

✅ Utilize fleet management software (such as Tenna) to track equipment, schedule maintenance, and monitor usage.

✅ Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, inspected, and repaired to prevent costly downtime.

✅ Work closely with project managers and field crews to coordinate equipment needs for ongoing projects.

✅ Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment longevity.

✅ Manage fuel consumption, parts inventory, and repair costs to optimize fleet efficiency and reduce expenses.

✅ Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

✅ Diagnose mechanical issues and coordinate in-house or outsourced repairs as needed.

✅ Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, inspections, warranties, and service histories.

Qualifications & Experience

-Minimum 5+ years of experience in fleet management, equipment maintenance, or a related role.

- Proficiency in fleet management software, preferably Tenna, for tracking, scheduling, and reporting.

- Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks, heavy equipment, and construction vehicles.

- Understanding of DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and equipment

compliance requirements.

-Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

-Experience with budgeting and cost control for fleet operations.

-Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate timely repairs.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
