This position is central to building the financial backbone of the organization as we move from preparation to active growth.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will manage the company’s financial reporting, accounting systems, and compliance functions. This is a hands-on role requiring a balance of strategic insight and operational execution.
You’ll help design and implement internal controls, oversee accounting accuracy, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the CFO in preparing investor-ready financials and audits.
· • Manage all accounting operations, including AR/AP, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
· • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
· • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
· • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with the CFO.
· • Support financial planning for funding rounds, convertible notes, and investor reporting.
· • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate counsel as needed.
· • Manage accounting systems and data integrity, ensuring accurate and timely information flow.
· • Implement and maintain cost control measures, particularly across manufacturing and R&D budgets.
· • Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures to ensure scalability and audit readiness.
· • Provide analytical support and insights to help drive informed decision-making.
· • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
· • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in startup, manufacturing, or biotech environments.
· • Deep understanding of GAAP and experience preparing audit-ready statements.
· • Skilled in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems.
· • Experience supporting capital raises, convertible notes, or investor reporting.
· • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· • Able to operate both strategically and tactically — comfortable rolling up sleeves in a lean, fast-moving team.
