The Controller will oversee the accounting team and manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions. This position will be responsible for the timely preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, internal audits, and reports for regulatory agencies and non-controlling interest partners. The Controller acts as the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) administrator and works closely with Human Resources to ensure all internal policies are adhered to in accordance with company policy and federal, state, and local laws & regulations. The role will also manage various government compliances and be an essential resource for operations and the development team.
- Manage all aspects of Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger functions
- Oversee and manage all project specific expenditures and internal push down accounting to subsidiary companies. Managing and reconciling intercompany accounting
- Ownership of all accounting systems. Including but not limited to, chart of accounts, sales and purchase items, vendor, customer, and employee records
- Implementing and managing all internal controls to ensure integrity in all aspects of data.
- Entering accurate overhead allocations and appropriately billing to projects
- Ability to communicate with and manage subcontractors to obtain and process bills in a timely manner
- Running monthly accounting meetings with the construction/project management team to review current and upcoming projects and billings
- Investigating project variances to budget and submitting these variance reports to the management
- Setting up new projects in accounting system and government agencies
- Reviewing project budgets, including fee structures, staffing, and work plans
- Creating and submitting applicable regulatory reports and tax returns related to the construction project
- Other duties as assigned
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Must have 4+ years in senior accounting functions.- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
- Remains in sedentary position for long periods of time working on a computer
- Work in Office environment
- Must be able to lift to 20lbs pounds occasionally.
- Use repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands and/or fingers
