We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team.
- Overseeing all corporate and operational accounting functions, including Billing, AIR, A/P, GL, Timesheet entry/reconciliation and management reporting.
- Preparing monthly and year-end financial statements.
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close process.
- Assisting management with cash flow analysis and long-range financial planning.
- Complete T4s and T5s.
- Coordinating and directing the budget preparation, financial forecasts and report variances.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance as required.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results..
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Coordinating activities of external auditors.
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Managing the budget process.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff as required.
- Additional controller duties as necessary.
- CPA designation.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience. - 8+ years of full-cycle accounting.- Experience creating financial statements and corresponding notes.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting best practices.
