- We are hiring Finance/Accounting Summer Students for full-time paid internships located in Glendale, AZ.
- In this role, you will support the Finance/Accounting Managers with accounting, budgeting and planning, and assist with projects to improve reporting processes.
- The core project will include two parts: the 1st part with General Accounting team to automate the current Power-cost tracking from the current analog processes to a digital format. The outputs will include enhanced accrual allocation methodology and better monthly demand tracking of business units by month. The 2nd part will be with the FP&A team to analyze and define the relationship between Power, Chemical and Water costs and the relationship to Operations system delivery of potable and non-potable water volumes.
- Another project that you will support is to refine and consolidate the Green House Gas (GHG), Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and Beneficial Reuse reporting processes. You will also work with Finance team to develop and maintain Power BI reports.
- In this role, you will support the Regulatory Finance Manager and Accountant to maintain the Regulatory financial accounts and prepare and support responses for current rate applications.
- You will help process monthly journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You will prepare and review regulatory account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead a project to create and maintain a Rate Case Data Request database to support regulatory filings and efficient information retrieval.
- Build and maintain a GAAP data repository (Oracle detail, AP, AR).
- Track Rate Adjustors (revenue and expense) to ensure accurate regulatory reporting and compliance.
- Lead a project to develop and organize a regulatory asset and liability backup quick‑link system.
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
