In this hands-on role, youll use your advanced welding, fitting, and fabrication expertise to solve on-the-spot design and functionality challenges for our customers. Most of the work will be solution-based, requiring you to get creative and think on your feetoften with no plans or drawings to guide you. Its the perfect opportunity for a welder who enjoys solving problems and finding solutions in real time.
Youll have the chance to work across a variety of industries, including industrial construction, manufacturing, power plants, commercial sites, aggregate, coal, and more. From installations and repairs to alterations, your work will make a real impact, helping our clients achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.
As a Field Welder III, youll bring a deep understanding of industrial welding and be proficient in industrial construction. Your expertise will play a key role in the success of each project, and you'll have the opportunity to further expand your knowledge and skills.
This position requires a flexible schedule, with travel and out-of-town work. Youll need to be willing to work extended hours, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shifts.
What You'll Do
- Provide certified AWS and ASME welding services to construction trades and to various construction, industrial and mechanical projects
- Perform general labor for a variety of trades such as concrete work, rebar, masonry, welding, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, etc. as required
- Weld using different techniques such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and oxygen acetylene cutting
- Perform layouts, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly
- Perform pipefitting
- Read welding and piping blueprints
- Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
- Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
- Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments
- Perform work at a variety of heights- 3+ years of industrial welding experience preferred
- AWS D1.1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessels Certifications required
- Valid drivers license required
- Ability to weld components in all positions required (flat, vertical, and overhead)
- Possess proven SMAW (Stick) welding skills and GTAW (TIG) welding skills - testing required
- Must be able to effectively design, modify, measure, determine proper angling, fabricate, and weld steel and piping
- Possess a strong mechanical knowledge
