- Follow company and client’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to specifications.
- Use hand tools and advanced meters for wiring, testing, and installation tasks.
- Operate basic instrumentation test equipment such as field calibrators and HART communicators.
- Perform field services, startup, commissioning, and panel modifications tasks as required
- Support I/O checks during FAT and SAT and assist programming teams during these activities.
- Respond to emergency service calls from customers.
- Prepare detailed technical service reports and documentation.
- Occasionally rewire control panels to accommodate field changes during startup and commissioning
- Participate in project meetings with customers and internal teams.
- Deliver technical training to customers on our systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Promote and protect the good reputation of Actemium.
- Protect Actemium confidential information as agreed to in the EMPLOYEE CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION AGREEMENT
- Always guard Actemium’s interest.
- Offer assistance to fellow staff members who could use some help.
- Degree or diploma in instrumentation, electronics, electrical engineering, or related field
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with staff and clients at all levels
- Comfortable working in varying conditions (indoors, outdoors, different weather, and at heights when required)
- Responsible, committed, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license and legal entitlement to work in Canada
- Willingness to spend up to 70% of time on customer sites
- Will be required to wear protective equipment such as: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed safety boots.
- May be exposed to cold, heat and humidity, loud noise levels, and dust.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Local travel (Greater Toronto Area).
- Overtime as required.

Actemium Toronto is an established leader in integration, project management, and engineering services for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. The main industries we support include Water Water, Food & Beverage, Brewing, and Life Sciences. This is a full-time permanent role reporting directly to the Operations Manager. The Actemium Summa team consists of a high-performance group of managers, engineers, and technicians.
To be successful in this role
The Field Service Technician will support the execution of industrial automation projects for our various customers. The incumbent must have the desired experience and be positive and cheerful, hands on, adaptable, enjoy taking on challenges, and able to cut through the small stuff to get the job done. Travel to customer sites is expected and the incumbent must be comfortable working at sites for varying amounts of time. Assignments will consist of projects within the Greater Toronto Area with the potential of projects to be located across Canada/USA.
