Legacy Steel, a rapidly growing company focusing on pre-engineered/prefabricated structures in the material handling, industrial, and e-commerce industries.
Legacy is seeking a competent individual to join our Project Management team. Reporting to the Manager of Project Management, the Field Service Technician plays a vital role responsible for overseeing all labor aspects of our projects, from initial site visit through punch list and final turnover. This role ensures the best customer experience by identifying and staffing the right labor for installations, visiting active project sites to ensure readiness, and providing regular project updates, thereby minimizing installation downtime and serving as a knowledgeable resource to solve issues as they arise.
- Serve as the main point of contact for installation sites, addressing any issues or questions.
- Conduct site visits as needed or required.
- Pre-installation: Survey sites to ensure they are prepared for installation.
- During installation: Provide live updates on progress (through the installation team)
- Problem Resolution: Visit sites to facilitate recovery plans for urgent situations, consisting of clear communication with the project team.
- Communication & Documentation is critical
- Provide weekly installation progress updates to the respective Project Manager.
- Communicate and propose solutions for issues that arise in the field.
- Log non-conformances and create a best-practice guideline for lessons learned.
- Pre-install checklist and/or meetings with installer to ensure all site or customer specific requirements are being met
- Additional site visits as required to facilitate recovery plans or deal with “emergencies”
- Create a best practices guideline for Legacy PM’s related to known or future “lessons learned”
- Promote Legacy to site personnel and make general inquiries in to other business opportunities
- Travel Requirement: Position requires frequent travel (approximately 75%).

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, scheduling, and general business operations.
- Aptitude for learning and achieving proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar programs) for blueprint review and field verification.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in a relevant business operations role, field service coordinator, or construction/technical job site management.
- Experience with Pre-Fabricated Platform is a strong asset.
