This position will be primarily responsible for providing field service for the commissioning and troubleshooting of our wastewater systems used by our new and existing customers. This position will require extensive travel to our customers’ locations in North America and sometimes globally.
- Commission, start up, and optimize MBR facilities.
- Develop site specific detailed start up plans with Fibracast process engineering and the customer/contractors.
- Assist in the development of, and complete project specific test reports and project documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure on-time and compliant system project delivery.
- Support warranty and service work, including site visits, inspections, and repairs.
- Verify that installation of our equipment by the customer (or Contractor) has been done according to our standards and project specific requirements.
- Setup PLC equipment. Establish communication with the PLC. Work with the customer to complete electrical (I/O) checks.
- Assist client in process startup, including sanitization, seeding, etc;
- Assist client with initial operation of the plant;
- Maintain accurate site documentations, reports, service records, and all ISO documentations.
- Provide operator training, commission, 24/7 and remote monitoring programs.
- Form internal plant troubleshooting taskforces on an as needed basis.
- Transfer lessons learned from the field to R&D, engineering, and manufacturing for continuous improvement.
- Day to day activities will be managed by the Field Service Manager.
- This position will work cross functionally with all departments including but not limited to:
- External: Client, Plant Manager, Project Manager, Plant Operators.
- Internal: Quality, Warranty, Systems Engineering, R&D.
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Chemical Technology, Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Environmental Technology, or relevant and related field experience.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Understanding of water and wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on site.
- Ability to make controls changes to a programming in PLC's and HMI's.
- Ability to prepare equipment for startup including installing fluids filters, and other requirement.
- Experience with pumps, valves, chemical skids, and instrumentations.
- Develop site specific detailed start up plans with Fibracast process engineering and the customer/contractors.
- Setup PLC equipment. Establish communication with the PLC. Work with the customer to complete electrical (I/O) checks;
- Commission all process equipment: this includes valves, air compressors, vacuum pumps, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation; etc.
- Complete detailed controls testing to ensure the system is functioning as per design;
- Analyze operation data for performance opportunities and troubleshooting requirements.
- Preparing site specific operations and maintenance manuals from templates and project documents.

- Experience with large processing facilities.
- Fluent in English (reading and writing).
- Certified waste water treatment operator certificate is an asset but not required.
- Hands-on equipment troubleshooting (pumps, valves, blowers, instrumentations)
- Read and interpret P&ID, control schematics, and control sequences/ narratives
- Allen Bradley PLC/HMI reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting. Basic PLC/HMI programming.
