Primary Purpose
This is an LA based Call-in position.
Executive Protection Agent I performs protection and other related security services for executive leadership, members of the Board of Directors, and other designated personnel. Devoting full attention to the security mission and principles of Executive Protection, the Executive Protection Agent provides the protectee with a safe environment free from both physical harm and embarrassment. Responsible for the safety and well-being of the protectee in his/her care and must take appropriate action in the event that the protectee becomes ill/injured and/or confronted by hostile persons. Receives direct supervision from the International Security & Executive Services Manager but will regularly receive direction or instruction from Executive Protection Agent leads.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Meet at protectee’s residence, place of employment, or other designated location at the time required each
day.
•Responsible for safety and security of assigned protectee. This includes preparing safe transportation
routes, evaluating the security of the protectee’s residence at departure and arrival, completing advances
on destination points, and maintaining a presence, when necessary at work site, special functions, or
events.
•Conduct regular vehicle maintenance of assigned fleet.
•Conduct site advances at off-site locations, to include hotels, meetings, restaurants, and special events at
both public and private venues. When necessary, complete the necessary documentation such as site security reports and presentations.
•Attend specialized training in executive protection, defensive & security driving, self-defense, certification in
First Aid/CPR/AED (automatic external defibrillator), and first responder medicine (also known as TCCC: tactical combat casualty care).
•Attend security briefings and read intelligence reports affecting crime and safety throughout the southern California region.
•Use of computer and application base software to complete administrative duties such as daily reports, expense reports, timesheet recordkeeping, and other data entries as directed.
•Provide courier services for sensitive and confidential documents or materials for assigned principal and other executives or departments.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
•H.S. Diploma/GED is required.
•Bachelor's degree in relevant field and/or equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
Experience
•4+ years of experience in law enforcement and/or military service or dignitary protection is required.
•4+ years of knowledge and experience driving in the LA area is required.
•4+ years of executive protection in the private sector is preferred.
•Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
•We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
Skills and Abilities
•Knowledge of routes and locations throughout southern California is required.
The following are preferred :
•Current in executive protection knowledge, skills, and abilities.
•Ability to use and navigate digital technology/software such as Outlook emails/calendar, cell phone applications, and other platforms to communicate and complete administrative tasks.
•Special events security planning and logistic operations.
•Residential security assessments.
Licenses and Certifications
The following are required :
•Valid California driver license. Safe driving record. No chargeable accidents or violations over the last three (3) years.
•Retired Law Enforcement Officer under 18 USC 926B and 926C, LEOSA HR-218 (Retired peace officer), or the ability to obtain a California CCW once hired.
•California BSIS issued guard permit and exposed firearm permit/license, or the ability to obtain both
permits/licenses once hired.
The following are preferred :
•Executive Protection or Driving Instructor certifications.
•EMT or Intermediate/Advanced emergency medical care.
•Member of the Department of Homeland Security Trusted Traveler Program with a Sentri, Global card, or Nexus
active membership.
Other Qualifications
•If hired, must successfully complete internal Executive Protection Agent training program in the first year, to include Executive Protection and Security Driver courses, First Aid/CPR/AED and tactical medicine courses.
•Must maintain high levels of physical fitness and possess extraordinary organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
