Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Reconstruction Estimator/Project Manager to join our reconstruction division. This hybrid role is responsible for estimating and managing large-loss repair projects from initial assessment through final completion. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Xactimate, has a strong understanding of insurance protocols, and is capable of managing all aspects of the reconstruction process including budget, schedule, subcontractors, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation & Scoping:
•Conduct thorough site inspections to assess structural and cosmetic damages due to fire, water, wind, or other causes.
•Prepare accurate, detailed estimates using Xactimate, adhering to insurance guidelines and WestRock standards.
•Develop comprehensive scopes of work and negotiate pricing/scope with insurance adjusters, clients, and stakeholders.
•Present and explain estimates to clients and secure signed contracts, including draw schedules or other billing terms.
Project Management & Execution:
•Manage the full lifecycle of each assigned project—from estimate approval to job closeout.
•Oversee scheduling, subcontractor buyouts, materials procurement, job costing, and quality control.
•Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
•Monitor project margins and production KPIs; report performance to the division manager.
Client & Team Coordination:
•Serve as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the reconstruction process.
•Coordinate with internal departments including accounting, mitigation, and support staff to ensure alignment and efficiency.
•Lead project kickoff meetings and job walks with clients and subcontractors.
Leadership & Division Support:
•Mentor and support junior estimators or assistant project managers.
•Help build and refine department systems, workflows, and documentation.
•Track and report key performance metrics to support division growth and efficiency.
Qualifications:
•5+ years of experience in reconstruction project management and estimating (large-loss experience preferred).
•Proficient in Xactimate (Level II or higher preferred) with a strong understanding of insurance estimating practices.
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects and effectively lead subcontractors and vendors.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
•Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and project financials.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management platforms, and cloud-based documentation.
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Certifications:
•IICRC, OSHA 10/30, or other construction/restoration credentials are a plus.
