Job Description
This position provides regulatory and environmental support to U.S. Conventionals decommissioning teams, serving as the primary regulatory technical point of contact for the Hoover decommissioning project and acting as a backup for the Boomerang decommissioning project during periods of absence.
Key Responsibilities:
•Act as the single point of contact for all environmental and regulatory matters, coordinating and overseeing environmental and regulatory programs across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and decommissioning activities.
•Navigate BSEE TIMSWeb portal and other online regulatory databases efficiently.
•Prepare, review, and submit various regulatory compliance elements, including Wells (P&A), Decommissioning, Daily Reporting, and responses to Maintenance and Monitoring Communications, including departures, variances, and extensions.
•Coordinate data input and summarization of decommissioning order deadlines and Maintenance & Monitoring (M&M) activities for team planning purposes.
•Oversee preparation of project-specific Environmental and Socioeconomic Impact Assessments (ESHIA) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
•Develop, coordinate, and implement the project’s Regulatory Compliance Plan and Environmental Management Plan, including preliminary versions of these plans.
•Obtain and steward project permits, licenses, and approvals in a timely manner, ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
•Interface with design and execution teams to ensure environmental, socioeconomic, and health requirements are integrated into project designs and implementation plans.
•Provide input for cost and schedule estimates related to regulatory approvals and environmental compliance deliverables.
•Recommend and oversee appropriate impact avoidance and mitigation measures.
•Collaborate with EPC contractors to develop and review environmental and regulatory plans, ensuring comprehensiveness and acceptability.
•Provide ongoing guidance and support to project teams and contractors to maintain regulatory compliance and high E&R performance standards.
•Conduct inspections and assessments of contractor work sites, monitor E&R performance, and investigate and report compliance issues.
•Prepare internal and external stewardship and regulatory compliance reports as required.
•Coordinate activities of technical experts hired for specific E&R tasks.
•Support training and awareness sessions related to E&R performance and EMP implementation for project workers and teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
•Previous experience in a similar environmental/regulatory role, preferably within construction or extractive industries.
•University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology), Engineering, or a related technical field.
•Strong familiarity with environmental, socioeconomic, and/or health management.
•Knowledge of host-country regulations and external project financing is desirable.
•Proficiency in using BSEE TIMSWeb and other regulatory databases.
•Excellent English speaking and writing skills required; familiarity with the predominant in-country language(s) is a plus.
•Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
•Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and effectively communicate across diverse teams.
