Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Description:
The Environmental and Power Resource Analyst supports the District’s efforts to meet environmental and regulatory requirements and assist in development, analysis and implementation of department activities associated with management, procurement, compliance and operations of the District’s wholesale power supply. The analyst helps implement environmental programs and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
•A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Engineering or related field.
•A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field. Relevant experience may include work in hydroelectric project operations and compliance, environmental permitting and reporting, dam safety inspections, power resource planning and forecasting, regulatory compliance (e.g., FERC, EPA, CETA, I-937), or utility-scale energy data analysis and reporting.
Desirable Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
•Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification or must obtain within first year of employment.
Work Environment:
The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
•Work is performed in the office Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Remote work is not available for this position.
•Fieldwork required at our Swift No. 2 Hydroelectric Project. This may require some physical exertion and operating in restrictive spaces.
•Field work required in response to oil spill cleanup activities.
•Traveling to and from local and regional meetings may be required.
