Environmental Quality Analyst
Section 1 – Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for working independently and exercising competent judgment in performing a variety of functions involving the Water and Wastewater Systems. Performs with high proficiency on advanced instrumentation and uses.
Section 2 – Major Responsibilities
1. Develops and successfully completes assigned projects, including field investigations.
2. Operates computer and prepares programs as required.
3. Prepare technical reports on various operations.
4. Conducts performance testing of equipment and operational processes for optimal results.
5. Maintain Quality Control File on a daily basis and perform mathematical calculations.
6. Conduct and develop project plans for water and wastewater quality studies as needed.
7. Perform data analysis and quality control checks on all Texas Clean Rivers program projects and prepare monthly data submittals.
8. Develop and maintain department documents, such as, SOPs, work instructions, forms, and checklists.
9. Maintain departmental training records required for operational licenses, Clean Rivers Program, etc.
Section 3 – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations.
2. Working knowledge of a variety of computer systems including MS Excel, MS Access, and Adobe Acrobat used for quality control and data analysis.
Section 4 – Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field from a college or university accredited by a National Association.
2. Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Section 5 – Environmental Factors, Activity Levels and Equipment
Moderate physical labor and considerable mental attention required with some eyestrain. Generally desirable conditions, with occasional discomforts due to fumes, odors, toxic and corrosive conditions. Potential hazards include pesticides, carcinogens, radioactive isotopes, pathogenic organisms, and highly flammable solvents. Equipment used includes the following various laboratory field testing equipment, computers and printers.
