Job Title: Entry Level Supply Chain Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Entry Level Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for establishing, administering, and implementing activities that support customer requirements. This includes material procurement, material requirement planning, and capacity planning to meet ordering objectives.
Nature & Scope:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role identifies requirements, develops plans, and facilitates the fulfillment of all demand streams for assigned purchased parts. The coordinator collaborates closely with Buyers and production personnel to address supplier capacity issues and support internal customer demand.
Principal Accountabilities:
•Manage purchased material requirements to ensure timely availability and optimal inventory levels.
•Maintain planning data in MRP systems, oversee order releases, and coordinate with Buyers on capacity planning.
•Partner with Buyers and Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) to manage ordering techniques and communicate shortages.
•Coordinate with Manufacturing Production Schedulers to align demand and supply.
•Track supplier deliveries, manage schedule changes, and resolve delays by reprioritizing enterprise needs.
•Maintain accurate data in the BAAN system (e.g., dates, part setup, lot sizes).
•Lead change configuration processes and establish implementation dates for purchased parts.
•Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful change implementations.
•Monitor part revisions and coordinate updates with Suppliers, SDEs, and Production Schedulers.
•Manage drop-ship logistics for OV make-complete parts (e.g., castings to machine houses).
•Provide supplier scheduling information for New Product Introductions (NPI).
•Contribute to cost reduction, inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives.
•Support demand simulations and may lead strategic projects at a senior level.
Skills & Qualifications:
•Strong scheduling and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
•Knowledge of inventory planning and basic manufacturing operations; product and commodity knowledge is a plus.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP systems.
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
•APICS certification and familiarity with Six Sigma principles preferred.
•Strong internal customer orientation to drive production needs and facilitate buyer-client feedback.
•Solid understanding of Demand/Supply Chain processes and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Summary Pay Range:
$76,542.00 - $114,814.00
