We are looking for interns to join our Safety & Quality: Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Environmental) team for an 11-week period lasting from early June to mid August. The internship requires 40 hours of work per week with a potential to work in a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days in office and 2 days working remotely from home (Las Vegas).
The ideal candidate will have an interest in the following areas: Safety & Quality, Environmental Programs, Quality Management (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), or Emergency Management, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS). We are interested in students who have excellent relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills.
Our paid internship provides an amazing opportunity for students to gain practical experience and train with professionals with dozens of years of experience in the Safety & Quality field.
- Assist with gathering, organizing, and preparing SMS materials for upcoming API assessments/audit
- Support data collection and analysis for drills, incident response, large scale incident training (LSIT), and other SMS activities
- Maintain SMS documents, records, and databases
- Analyze safety data for trends and reporting, support hazard and risk assessments
- Contribute to SMS process improvement projects and help develop training and communication materials
- Participate in safety meetings, assessments, field observations (as appropriate)
- Conduct research on safety standards, best practices, and regulatory guidance
- Provide general administrative support and collaborate with operations, engineering, and compliance teams
- Support development and maintenance of GHG emissions inventories for solar projects and facility energy use
- Collect, validate, and track energy generation/consumption data and associated emissions reductions
- Monitor solar system performance and maintain related databases and documentation
- Assist with sustainability reporting, dashboards, and presentations
- Conduct research on emission factors, renewable energy policies, and reporting frameworks
- Identify data gaps and recommend improvements to data collection processes
- Hands‑on experience with GHG accounting, solar energy performance metrics, and sustainability reporting
- Enhanced skills in data analysis, dashboards, and documentation management (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI)
- Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems (e.g., API RP 1173) and safety culture principles
- Practical experience with hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety data trending
- Experience collaborating with field operations and contributing to real improvement initiatives
- Academic background in environmental science, renewable energy, engineering, sustainability, safety, construction management, or emergency management
- Basic understanding of solar energy and climate concepts
- Strong data management, analytical, and organizational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to research and summarize information
- Comfortable working with field and office teams; detail‑oriented and eager to learn
- Proficiency with Excel/Sheets; Power BI a plus
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
