UGSI Chemical Feed, Inc. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Engineering Intern will work closely with the Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing departments within Chemical Feed. The Engineering Intern will work in an internally focused role on projects such as creation and updates of engineering documentation, manufacturing process documentation, and equipment testing/validation. This part-time position will report to the Vineland, New Jersey facility.
Essential Job Functions
- Specifying parts, creating schematics and generating the BOMs, wiring diagram and panel layout documents for standard designs.
- Updating existing equipment specifications.
- Reviewing engineering drawings.
- Assisting with/conducting time studies for product improvements.
- Testing Chemical Feed products on the shop floor.
- Understanding of Chemical Feed drafting practices and procedures, plus the ability to perform and apply a variety of mathematical calculations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Core course work complete in: Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
- Must be detailed oriented, organized, disciplined, accurate, and be able to handle multiple assignments at the same time
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with 2D AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (Solidworks, Inventor, or Fusion360) is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with 3D printing is preferred but not required
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
- Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it responds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
- Approximately 70% Office; and
- Approximately 30% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This position is non-exempt. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary for this position is $18.00 per hour.
