BLOC Resources is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer 1 to join the Operations Data Analytics department in Moss Point, MS. In this role, you will support engineering teams, construction personnel, and approved contractors by applying engineering principles, supporting design work, preparing construction documentation, and assisting with daily operations. Key Responsibilities

- Apply foundational engineering principles, design criteria, and approved software tools to support the design and construction of power-related systems

- Assist with developing engineering design options, construction drawings, technical specifications, and project cost estimates

- Support preparation, organization, review, and transmission of construction packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards

- Participate in quality assurance and oversight activities by reviewing contractor-developed designs, estimates, and construction documents

- Maintain a strong focus on safety and contribute to creating a safe work environment across all tasks and interactions

- Learn and support the processes involved in planning, design, operations, construction, and maintenance of engineering systems

- Build working knowledge of internal departments involved in engineering, operations, construction, and project execution

- Apply industry standards and Southern Company design practices to ensure consistency and quality in all deliverables

- Support development, refinement, and maintenance of engineering design standards and criteria

- Provide technical assistance to construction and maintenance teams during field operations, troubleshooting, or clarifications

- Assist with material take-offs, quantities, and procurement support for engineering projects

- Collaborate with plant staff, engineering personnel, field crews, and vendors to support project execution and problem-solving

- Document engineering activities, decisions, and design considerations to support project traceability and team communication

Required Education and Experience

- Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering (required)

- 0–5 years of related engineering experience (internships, co-op experience, or project-based work is valued)

Required Skills and Abilities

- Foundational understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply them in practical settings

- Basic problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize issues, develop preliminary solutions, and seek guidance appropriately

- Ability to make limited, routine decisions independently while aligning with established procedures and supervision

- Basic familiarity with engineering and design software tools used in the discipline

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple tasks
