We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Occupational Health Coordinator. Please note that this position is based in Labrador West and the work schedule will be a 7 on 7 off rotation (days/nights) with 12 hour shifts following the A/C rotation.
Job Responsibilities:
•Ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional on-site medical care within their scope of practice, and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to additional medical care as needed.
•Maintain certification and/or licensing while performing duties within Tacora’s safety and medical services policies, Workplace Scope of Practice Guidelines, Medical Control Guidelines, as well as all applicable government laws and regulations.
•Coordinate yearly miners’ medicals and respiratory clearance and fit testing as per the silica code of practice, ensuring compliance.
•Consult with external physicians and government agencies to develop and implement Early Safe Return to Work plans including follow-up with stakeholders for any injured worker.
•Promoting worker productivity by developing and implementing health policies to reduce disability claims and work-related injuries.
•Liaise with insurance providers in managing short-term and long-term disability claims.
•Administrative duties such as but not limited to completing and filing work related and non-work injury reports, physio reports, WCB claims, fit testing reports, ITRAK reports and miners medicals certifications.
•Coordinating regular training sessions throughout the year to maintain certification and skill set for AMFR.
•Maintain accreditation and perform Non-DOT Drug & Breath Alcohol Testing as required.
•Regular inspections and inventory checks of life saving equipment.
•Maintaining and ordering stock as required using Ellipse.
•Perform monthly safety interactions.
•Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
•Licensed Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse
