As a Solar Superintendent, you’ll play a key role in overseeing exciting solar projects while leading a team to ensure safety, productivity, and top-notch quality. Your leadership will be crucial in keeping projects on track, ensuring they stay on time, within budget, and meet all safety and compliance standards.
In this role, you’ll supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, helping to ensure they exceed expectations while staying true to project specifications. You’ll be working on a variety of projects, from solar energy systems to power plants, manufacturing facilities, and renewable energy installations. No two projects are the same, offering you the chance to keep learning and growing in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.
This is a skilled position that requires strong construction knowledge, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will need to be flexible, as the job may require answering calls off-shift and working extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Supervise and direct site-specific tasks in conjunction with Project Management and any other involved Groups as it relates to assigned projects
- Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules and prepare 3 Week Look-Ahead schedules for office personnel
- Prepare T&M tickets, daily production reports, receipts, and other paperwork as required by the job
- Assist with planning the manpower, equipment, and supplies required to execute the job and communicate needs to Management
- Ensure that all codes are satisfied, in conjunction with all agencies
- Perform regular site inspections for unsafe conditions or practices and respond with recommendations for corrective actions when needed
- Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
- Assist, coach, train, and mentor other field personnel as needed- 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical construction, installation, and maintenance - 3+ years of solar site construction, installation, and management required
- Must possess a Master Electrical License in at least one state, Maryland or VA preferred
- Advanced ability to read blueprints, plans and review drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities to include project scheduling, reporting, etc.
- Strong knowledge of, and commitment to, safety and construction regulations, to include the NEC
- Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure and meet budget and deadlines
- Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type
- Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
