We're seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Control Panel Designer to join our engineering team, specializing in projects for industrial automation and control panels and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial control panel design and a thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards.
- Perform detailed electrical control panel design for industrial manufacturing and process control systems.
- Develop industrial control panel design drawings including mechanical panel layout, Bill of Materials, power distribution and I/O wring, in compliance with NEC, UL-508A/698A codes.
- Preparation of motor control circuits and variable frequency drive power and control wiring drawings.
- Determine electrical system requirements, including feeder and circuit breaker sizing and short-circuit analysis.
- Specify electrical control components and devices per project specifications and application requirements.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, process, and instrumentation and control systems engineering teams for development of control panel designs.
- Prepare control panel drawing and engineering submittals for owner/engineer in conformance with design specifications.- 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical control panel design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for developing electrical drawings.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems and grounding.
- Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards and practices.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and control devices used in industrial automation and control systems.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
