We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Designer to support and execute electrical design efforts across a portfolio of Power Distribution, Microgrid, and Modular Generation projects. This role will work directly under the Director of Electrical Engineering and will be responsible for translating engineering concepts into constructible electrical designs that meet performance, safety, and code compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of power systems design knowledge, practical field experience, and advanced drafting capability, with a clear understanding of how electrical systems are built, installed, and commissioned in real-world environments.
- Develop detailed electrical designs for power distribution systems, including:
- - Low- and medium-voltage switchgear
- Transformers
- Generator interconnections (portable and fixed)
- Protection devices and circuit breakers
- Produce and maintain:
- - Single-line diagrams
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Panel layouts and enclosure designs
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Apply engineering direction from the Director of Electrical Engineering to ensure designs align with system architecture, scalability, and performance objectives.
- Coordinate with vendors, EPC partners, and internal manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and installation-ready.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, and functional testing by providing design clarifications, drawings, and field documentation.
- Assist in evaluating subcontractor and vendor electrical drawings for compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Interface with engineering, construction, and field teams to resolve design issues and incorporate as-built conditions.
- Support utility interconnection packages and coordination with electrical utilities under engineering guidance.
- Ensure designs comply with UL 2200, NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE, and other applicable standards.
- Provide field support and troubleshooting assistance for deployed systems, including signal verification and functional validation.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with CAPEX estimates, material take-offs, and schedule inputs as required.

- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design or power systems design, preferably in industrial, power generation, microgrid, or critical infrastructure environments.- Strong working knowledge of:
- - Three-phase AC power systems
- Generator systems and interconnections
- Electrical enclosures and panel design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical drafting standards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical drawings and vendor documentation.
- Hands-on familiarity with commissioning, FAT, and field troubleshooting support.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation quality, and design accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Journeyman Electrician License (active) or actively working toward a Master Electrician License.
- Formal drafting and design training with:
- - AutoCAD
- AutoCAD Electrical
- AutoCAD MEP
- Experience supporting or designing systems compliant with UL 2200.
- Prior field experience installing, inspecting, or commissioning electrical power systems.
- Exposure to:
- - Modular generator systems
- Distributed generation
- Data center or mission-critical electrical infrastructure
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment and validation procedures.
- You are hands-on, practical, and understand how designs translate to the field.
