Electrical & Controls Technician

Ability Engineering Technology, Inc., is seeking an experienced Electrician & Controls Technician to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Wire electrical control panels and field devices to provided drawings/schematics.

- Interpret and apply UL guidelines for building industrial control panel (UL508A).

- Understand and interpret 2D drawings of both mechanical and controls assemblies to include controls wiring diagram and pneumatic controls logic diagrams.

- Install specialty sensors such as diodes and RTD’s

- Use test equipment such as multimeters, panel meters and other devices.

- Familiarity with PLC’s, various I/O signals, circuit protection, heater controllers and PID controllers.

- Experience with installing and maintaining 480 VAC, 240 VAC, 208 VAC and 120V circuits/feeds.

- Ability to mechanically assemble various tools and special machines using pneumatic and electrical components in the construction of the machine system.

- Perform facilities maintenance, such as general lighting, updates to facilities distribution panel to support current projects and new equipment.

- Maintain and troubleshoot existing shop equipment, mills, lathes, positioners etc.

- Travel to customer sites for electrical installation, troubleshooting and commissioning as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or Associates degree from an accredited community college or vocational school. Job related experience and/or training will be considered in lieu of post-secondary education. 5+ years’ experience in the electrical trade is preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
