This position is based on site at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery working a 9/80 schedule.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Lead – Electrical Engineer, the EIT – Electrical will work closely with the Electrical team to ensure the continued delivery of expertise related to the design, repair, and improvement of EHT, relay protection, VFD’s, transformers, power feeds, and general electrical needs. This person will also work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Projects, and Electrical Engineering teams to ensure facility electrical equipment related issues are managed as part of the integrated business.
Responsibilities:- Prepares high-quality engineering packages that consider both plant reliability and safety; Including:
- Equipment improvement studies to justify proposed changes to improve plant reliability and maintainability.
- Prepare packages to support the implementation of approved plant changes via the management of change (MOC) process.
- Supporting replacement/upgrades of end-of-life equipment.
- Supports field execution work of electrical systems as it applies to engineering packages.
- Supports field technicians and maintenance specialists with troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical equipment issues.
- Works closely with operations, maintenance and other technical personnel to resolve equipment bad actors.
- Works with engineers to ensure the accuracy of engineering technical data (datasheets, equipment lists, vendor data changes resulting from MOC etc.)
- Works with engineers to update equipment specifications based on plant and/or industry learnings;
- Deliver technical solutions in accordance with CEC, ANSI, IEEE, NWR standards and good engineering practices.
- Review drawing submittals for accuracy and intent; including schematics, single-line & three-line drawings.
- Collaborate with the reliability team members to continuously improve asset strategy programs (Risk Based Inspection, Reliability Centered Maintenance and Spare Parts);
- All other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering as recognized by APEGA.
- Registered as an EIT or eligible for EIT registration with APEGA;
- Possess analytical problem-solving capabilities and good judgement while also making timely decisions;
- Familiar with CEC, ANSI, and IEEE is a benefit
- Ability to utilize appropriate forms of verbal and written communication to adequately complex information and ideas to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively and collaboratively within cross-functional teams;
- Strong time management skills coupled with the ability to work independently and in an organized manner;
- Ability to work on multiple tasks of various size and complexity;
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to continuously improve technical ability;
