Drafting & Programming Technician

Job Purpose:

Adams Steel Fabricators is looking for a reliable, motivated, and hard-working individual to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry. We’re looking for an individual who is knowledgeable in the industry, has project management experience, and can ensure a seamless transaction for our customers from the request of a quote to order completion.

Job Description:

- Nest files and drawings provided by the customer in our CAD/CAM software for laser, plasma, and waterjet cutting operations

- Create technical drawings and schematics of parts based on customer specifications

- Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and processes required to ensure compliance with order requirements

- Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships

- Use email, phone, and other forms of communication well to professionally assist our customers

- Produce quotes in our quoting software for customers

- Related tasks and projects as required

Qualifications/Competencies:

- Proficient in CAD/CAM and drafting software (Pronest, Draftsight, Solidworks) considered an asset

- Estimating and quoting experience

- Excellent communication and Organizational skills

- Ability to prioritize a busy workload

- Proficient computer skills

- Experience with sales, purchasing, and project management

- 3+ years of experience in the metal fabrication industry

Compensation based on applicable experience
