Distribution Center Inventory Control Associate

Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk increases company profitability by assuring inventory accuracy . The Inventory Control Clerk works effectively in a team environment with warehouse, sales and supply chain personnel.

Responsibilities

i ndividual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

- Complete cycle counts in a timely and accurate manner;

- Reconcile inventory discrepancies.

- Work with MRC purchasing for authorization to return non-conforming materials.

- File defective goods claims with MRC Rep.

- Maintain the IR (irregular goods) inventory report.

- Maintain daily inventory reports (Dock to Stock, Procurement Match, etc.).

- Monitor returned goods in the warehouse / RDC that have not yet been processed.

- Establish working rapport with local management, corporate employees, and other branch personnel using proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills.

- Promote a safe workplace by visibly participating , encouraging and considering safety in every aspect of daily activity.

- Assure compliance with company business processes.

- Adhere to MRC ethics policy and hold others accountable for behavior that is consistent with MRC ethical standards.

- Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.

- Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately .

Education, Experience, & Ability Requirements

Any combination of requirements that provides the knowledge & abilities necessary to perform Essential Duties & Responsibilities will be considered

- High School Diploma or a GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

- One y ear of experience in a warehouse environment involving parts distribution, receiving and shipping.

- Strong PC skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, and familiarity with Word, PowerPoint and outlook.

- Knowledge of or ability to learn MRC warehouse business processes and software;

- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment.

- Strong Knowledge of MRC products.

- Knowledge of inventory processes.

- Basic math skills.

- Good reading skills.

- Ability to regularly lift, move or carry object/materials weighting up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to wear personal protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats.

- Ability to travel to/from meeting locations, training and related events.

Additional Qualifications

- Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

- Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions and respond to inquiries.

- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
