This position is responsible for all facets of the Company's gas transmission, compression, storage and gathering operations; oversees the safe, efficient, code-compliant operation and maintenance of facilities, including assigning and directing a group of workers. Coordinates efforts with other production and maintenance teams to maximize reliability and continually improve operations. Presents a positive and professional image to our customers, employees, peers and the public.
- Regularly uses independent judgement to assign and direct a group of employees, including hiring, performance management, and separation, as appropriate.
- Manage supervisory and technical staff to ensure that operational responsibilities are accomplished safely, within guidelines, cost effective and within the Company's financial guidelines/constraints.
- Manage and coordinate all operating activities in area of responsibility; coordinate operating activities with other areas. a. Operate and maintain the transmission, compression, storage and gathering areas, including operational obligations, horsepower, available storage facilities, transmission system availability, customer facilities and process oversight, including routine maintenance, troubleshooting problem areas, providing acceptable gas quality, injection and withdrawal (as directed by gas control), and maintaining gathering system operations in accordance with customer contracts. b. Plan, schedule, monitor and control work.
- Lead the continuous improvement commitment & efforts for a given group(s): design processes; establish quality/quantity standards & metrics; collect, refine, adapt and communicate best practices; share knowledge and develop staff in a systematic fashion.
- Administer company safety programs and motivate employees to always work safely.
- Perform, guide and ensure the accomplishment of the following core management functions for a given BU (or group within that BU): planning, organizing, directing, staffing / employee selection & performance management, coordinating, reporting & budgeting.This is a dual-track base requirement job; education & experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
- High School or GED, & the knowledge & capabilities typically acquired through 8+ years of job- relevant experience, inclusive of gathering or transmission operations/engineering/construction - Associate degree in business, engineering, or a job-relevant discipline & the knowledge & capabilities typically acquired through 6+ years of job-relevant experience, inclusive of gathering or transmission operations/engineering/construction
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Experience with PHMSA or applicable state codes and standards compliance
- Natural gas or hydrocarbon liquids pipeline integrity management experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and at a project site. While working at a plant or project site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, uneven or steep terrain and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but, may become loud at the project site.
