Position Overview
Zelestra is seeking a Director of Estimating who has a high skill set of CapEx Estimator utilizing AACE methodologies to support renewable energy projects by developing accurate cost estimates, managing risk registers, and implementing cloud-based tools. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, monitors EPC market trends, and ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Position Responsibilities
- 7+ years of experience in renewable energy estimating experience
- Bachelor's Degree or extensive estimating experience in renewable energy estimating.
- Develop CapEx estimates for renewable energy projects using AACE methodologies.
- Create and maintain a risk register that includes estimated costs and probabilities for each identified risk.
- Continuously update risk registers and CapEx estimates as new information becomes available.
- Maintain a historical record of risks and CapEx data to ensure the estimating process remains traceable.
- Implement a cloud-based estimating tool (e.g., Trimble, Modelogix) to streamline processes.
- Build a historical database for early-stage estimates ($/Wdc and $/MW) segmented by region.
- Participate in EPC negotiations to validate contractor pricing and estimates.
- Engage regularly with the EPC market to gather current cost insights.
- Collaborate with Construction Project Management, Development, Program Directors, and Engineering teams to align on costs and risk.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and standards through ongoing learning.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary for this position typically ranges from the $150,000 to the mid-point annually, based on experience and qualifications.
