Western Water is seeking a dynamic Director of Customer Experience and Community Engagement (CCX) to continue elevating Western Water's strategic vision while amplifying our regional impact. In this pivotal role, you'll partner closely with our Assistant General Manager to lead the Customer Service, Customer Experience, and Strategic Communications teams, providing strategic plans and daily operational support. Any combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying, along with the specific licenses/certifications as outlined below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree in a related field is highly desired and can substitute for one year of experience.
- Minimum nine (9) years of progressive responsibilities in the development and coordination of customer experience, communications, outreach, government relations, legislation, customer service, or related area.
- Minimum five (5) years in a management/supervisory capacity.
- Experience overseeing human-centered design and integrating customer experience insights into business decisions in a government or special district water utility setting is a plus.
- Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) or a similar organization.
- Certified Customer Experience Professional through the Customer Service Institute of America or similar.
