Director Inside Sales (US) The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy to manage and elevate the U.S. Inside Sales team that supports projects across power transmission, distribution, and complex B2B energy solutions. You will run day-to-day customer service operations and steer disciplined execution across RFQ‑to‑Invoice processes—governing tools (OPS, SFDC, SAP), establishing clear reporting with Power BI dashboards, and coordinating with cross‑functional partners in Sales, Tendering, Contract Management, IT PMO, Operations, and Finance. You’ll focus on order accuracy, cycle time, and proactive communication, acting as the internal voice of the customer to streamline interactions and simplify workflows. Your work ensures timely order entry, issue resolution, and compliant invoicing—contributing to reliable delivery of equipment and services that keep grid projects on schedule. In this role, you’ll grow team capability through coaching, cadenced reviews, and targeted development plans while fostering an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment. The impact is tangible: better service levels, fewer bottlenecks, and data‑guided choices that strengthen customer confidence and support innovation across the power grid.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Manage and develop Inside Sales managers and teams; set clear goals for RFQ‑to‑Invoice execution.
- Establish disciplined cadences (weekly order reviews, monthly performance dialogues, targeted coaching).
- Govern OPS, SFDC, and SAP integrations; build robust reporting using Power BI dashboards.
- Chair cross‑functional forums with Sales leadership, Operations, Tendering, Contract Management, IT PMO, and Finance.
- Ensure timely, accurate customer record management in partnership with Customer Master Data teams.
- Coordinate with Invoicing/AR on invoice methods, tax validation, and documentation.
- Run day‑to‑day customer service operations to ensure timely order entry, issue resolution, and proactive communication.
- Monitor service metrics to evaluate efficiency and performance; identify and implement process improvements to enhance customer experience.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- 7+ years in Inside Sales, Sales Operations, or Commercial Operations; 5+ years managing multi‑manager teams.- Proven ownership of end‑to‑end Quote‑to‑Order‑to‑Invoice processes in complex businesses.
- Adept with SFDC and SAP; experienced in reporting and data visualization (e.g., Power BI).
- Experience with Customer Master/Data Governance and Finance/AR invoicing controls and compliance.
- Excellent coaching and stakeholder management skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience in industrial/energy or complex B2B sectors; familiarity with customer care/quality ticketing systems; history of enabling continuous improvement.
