Sunland Construction is a pipeline construction company that has been in business for 51 years. We are combining two positions - the Manager of Human Resources and the Director of Talent Management and we are seeking well qualified candidates. The position reports to our Chief Financial Officer but will largely have an independent hand in supporting the full executive team. This position is suited for a seasoned HR and Talent veteran. Please see the key responsibilities below. The position will have an office in Eunice, Louisiana and is a full time in-office role. The office for this position will be in the executive staff area. A move package matched to the winning candidate's needs will be developed as needed. Salary will be negotiated based on experience and potential.
Key HR Responsibilities
+ Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process. + Continuously educate the workforce about benefits. + Manage & make recommended enhancements to all current benefit plans. + Track employee benefits eligibility and proactively engage them as they near eligibility. + Act as the benefits decision-maker and know when to escalate issues. + Assist employees with benefits application and coordinate interface with Payroll. + Support the executive team with wage parity analysis as needed. Aid the executive team in defining job families and pay ranges.
+ The incumbent must be, or become, proficient in the Arcoro Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in order to effectively lead staff and coordinate with field personnel and corporate functions like IT, Payroll, and Safety, and will be accountable for tasks within Arcoro. + Own the employee record-keeping processes. + Pre-onboarding processes and required documents. + Background check process and required investigative support. + Coordinate with the Safety Department to initiate drug screening and collaborate with the Medical Review Officer (MRO) on failed tests. + Assist management as needed to ensure proper termination steps are being followed. + Work with IT on system rules and issue resolution.
+ Lead the design, administration, and interpretation of an employee survey, facilitating executive discussions for post-survey actions. + The incumbent will draft internal communications as requested by the executive team and manage the internal newsletter in digital and print formats. + Deliver an annual EVP report for executive approval to be shared with all employees. + Advocate for Sunland's culture and help leaders identify gaps in its practice.
+ Draft new and maintain existing company policies. Orient employees to policies. + Engage in confidential investigations linked to the Lighthouse process or as requested by the executive team for fact-finding. + Help executives draft performance improvement plans (PIPs) as needed, maintain them in employee records, and track update timelines. + The incumbent will have a strong understanding of federal and state employment laws affecting the Sunland workforce and will serve as the main contact for external law firms regarding research, legal opinions, and testimony coordination in legal hearings. + Be the HR expert for large-scale change initiatives and assist others in managing workforce-related issues during these changes.
