Job Summary
We are hiring someone to help build our HR and recruiting infrastructure. This role is central to how we scale our team, especially on the technical side. You will help us find and hire capable engineers and scientists, then put the right systems in place to support them. You’ll work directly with leadership to build structured, repeatable processes across hiring, onboarding, compliance, and performance.
This role is hands-on and focused on building from the ground up. In the early stages, the priority will be on talent acquisition and recruiting for technical roles. As the company grows, the focus will expand to include designing and scaling core HR systems, processes, and infrastructure. You should be comfortable working with limited structure, moving quickly, and building systems that can scale.
What You’ll Do
HR Operations
•Ensure compliance with employment laws in Texas and California
•Maintain accurate employee records and manage core HR documentation
•Oversee benefits administration and support payroll processes
•Build onboarding processes for new hires
•Evaluate and implement HR software and tools as needed
Talent Acquisition
•Partner with hiring managers to define roles, source candidates, and manage interview pipelines
•Lead recruiting for technical roles in physics, engineering, and adjacent fields
•Build and manage candidate evaluation systems
•Own applicant tracking and recruiting coordination
•Track hiring performance and drive improvements
People Programs
•Help design and roll out performance review systems
•Work with leadership to define job levels, career paths, and long-term headcount planning
•Support internal communication and team engagement
•Contribute to building a strong and scalable company culture
Requirements
•Proven experience in recruiting and human resources management.
•Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Ability to build relationships with candidates and employees at all levels of the organization.
•Experience in training development is highly desirable.
•Strong research skills to identify potential candidates and market trends.
