About This Job

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) develops and maintains integrated financial models, leads scenarios and sensitivity analyses, and ensures the organization has a clear and accurate view of short‑ and long‑term financial performance. The position oversees and manages the company's enterprise-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting functions. By delivering high‑quality insights and disciplined financial rigor, this position supports executive leadership and private equity sponsors in evaluating capital allocation decisions, assessing market and regulatory impacts, and optimizing returns across a rapidly expanding renewable‑energy portfolio.

Beyond core forecasting and reporting responsibilities, the Director of FP&A partners closely with cross‑functional teams, including development, project finance, capital markets, accounting, and operations, to enhance project‑level economics, support major financing events, and strengthen enterprise performance management.  This position plays an essential role in informing financial strategy, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that decision‑makers have the timely, data‑driven intelligence required to scale effectively in a capital‑intensive environment.

This role additionally provides leadership and mentorship to Scout's FP&A teams, strengthening financial capabilities, and alignment across stakeholders.

- Develop standardized reporting formats and manage information flow between portfolio companies and Brookfield.

- Prepare clear, concise, executive‑ready presentations for senior management and board audiences.

- Mentor Scout FP&A finance team and act as a conduit between these teams and internal stakeholders, including Brookfield.

Requirements

- 5-8 years of progressive work experience in finance, consulting, or a related field.

- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

- Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar) considered an asset.

- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (financial modeling) and MS PowerPoint (executive presentations).

- Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) is an asset.

- Experience in power, utilities, infrastructure, or renewable energy is considered an asset.

- Ability to understand diverse business drivers quickly.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing concise, impactful executive materials.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational and strategic drivers.

- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
