Join our team at American Bio Source as a Diesel Mechanic. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in automotive mechanics to maintain and repair diesel engines, vehicles, and other non-diesel equipment. Your skills will ensure the smooth operation of our fleet and plant equipment.
· Perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, including quarterly inspections
· Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and tanker trailers, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure a safe working environment
· Assist with equipment relocation and minor fabrication/welding tasks as required
· Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed effectively and efficiently
· Maintain accurate records of all repairs conducted, including parts used and labor hours
· Estimate time and material costs for repairs and requisition of new parts as necessary
· Inspect the quality of outside/supplier repairs and rebuilds
· Assess structural damage and assign needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s)
· Five years of previous experience as a diesel mechanic required
· Proficiency in mechanical and electrical diagnostics software
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and symbols
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
