Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in vehicles and equipment used in a steel plant. This role requires expertise in diesel mechanics to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the plant's machinery and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
•Diagnosis: Inspect and diagnose issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems.
•Repair: Perform repairs and replacements of defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
•Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines and related components to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
•Testing: Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
•Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
•Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including operators and supervisors, to ensure machinery is functioning correctly.
•Continuous Improvement: Participate in training and development programs to enhance mechanical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in diesel mechanics or related field is preferred.
•Experience: Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Working Conditions:
•Environment: Industrial setting within a steel plant, which may involve exposure to high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery.
•Hours: Full-time position with standard working hours; overtime may be required based on project demands.
