This position is responsible for delivering and returning the correct extrusion dies, bolsters and manufacturing orders to the extrusion press work centers. This position is also responsible for safely using caustic (sodium hydroxide) to remove aluminum left in the dies after they are used for extrusion. The person in this position will monitor and update the die reporting system on a daily basis.
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Assist in data collection of the extrusion process to improve processes and procedures
- Properly maintain and store dies and tooling based on department guidelines
- Maintain caustic rooms, tanks and equipment to ensure chemicals and hazardous waste are safety stored, used and transported
- Assist with repairs to storage system (sodium hydroxide and used hazardous waste) when needed
- Take part in education relating to hazardous material and spill response training to assist in case of any emergency
- Continuously cross-train within the Die Shop to grow and develop skills, and to be able to assist in other areas when needed
- Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system
- Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department key measures
- Ensure all quality practices are being followed accurately and efficiently

- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Experience:
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred- Knowledge of extrusion process is helpful
- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated area
