Directly responsible to Extrusion Shift Supervisor. The Die Polisher must communicate well with the schedulers, press crew and all other plant personnel. Functionally responsible for maintenance of all extrusion dies to achieve maximum yield/productivity.
The duties and responsibilities of the Die Polisher are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
- Prepare dies according to required press schedules in cooperation with the Scheduling Dept.
- Deliver the required dies to applicable presses
- Help ensure graphite blocks are made available for dies requiring them
- Isolate dies to be corrected and ensure caustic attendant is informed of priority dies
- Inspect & polish dies as required. Recognize defects/abnormalities and bring to the attention of correction staff or supervisor
- Comply with all quality related policies, procedures and system requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Basic Knowledge of extrusion process with exposure to tooling/dies an asset
- Must be able to read technical drawings
- Candidate must be willing and able to work with caustics and comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
- Epics and outlook knowledge preferred
- Quality driven with attention to detail is a must

The expected pay range for this position is $20.40 – $25.04 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
