Job Title: Polisher/Stroke Sander
Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday?Friday, 7:00 AM?3:30 PM
Job Summary
The Stroke Sander is responsible for sanding and finishing welded and fabricated metal surfaces using a stroke sander machine. This role ensures all parts meet required quality, dimensional, and surface finish standards while maintaining production efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Operate stroke sander machines to sand flat and formed metal surfaces
Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and specifications
Select appropriate sanding belts and grit sizes for each job
Inspect parts for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and finish quality
Maintain consistent sanding pressure to prevent defects or material damage
Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and minor maintenance
Meet production and quality standards within established timeframes
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Required Skills and Qualifications
Basic knowledge of metal sanding and finishing processes
Ability to safely and efficiently operate sanding equipment
Strong attention to detail and good hand?eye coordination
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in metalworking, fabrication, or manufacturing
Knowledge of various metals and sanding materials
Experience working in a production or custom shop environment

Exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions
