We are searching for a Designer (electric distribution projects) on behalf of our client. This is a 6-months contract assignment.(W-2) The person will be responsible for the design and managing the electric distribution projects for new and existing customers. Responsibilities include customer interaction, project management, field assessments, and system design using GE Smallworld (customized GIS). Tasks include transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement. Team includes: 5 electric designers, 3 service designers, 2 gas designers.
- 6-months contract assignment.(W-2)
- Hybrid schedule: in-office Tues–Thurs, remote Mon/Fri.
- Check SAP for new customer contacts.
- Field visits or computer-based design work.
- Weekly scheduling meetings (Mon/Tues) and team touchpoints (Thurs).
- Highly varied day-to-day tasks.
- Will support electric side and collaborate with service/gas designers.
- Primarily supports external customers (residential and commercial).
- Collaborative office environment with idea sharing.
- Mix of field and office work. Field work includes visits to residential, commercial, and construction sites.
- 30% field work (field assessments)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication (verbal and written).
- Organizational and project management skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge or background.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with GIS/AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required.
- Open to various backgrounds (construction, call center, police, etc.).
- Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus.
- Must be able to use personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $28.00/hr. to $33.00/hr.
