Opportunity Overview:

Designer (electric distribution projects) is an onsite position based in Eau Claire Wisconsin 54701. Hybrid schedule: in-office Tues–Thurs, remote on Mon and Fri. This is a 6-months contract assignment.(W-2) You will manage the design and managing the electric distribution projects for new and existing customers. Responsibilities include customer interaction, project management, field assessments, and system design using GE Smallworld (customized GIS). Tasks include transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement. Team includes: 5 electric designers, 3 service designers, 2 gas designers.

Your Day-to-Day:

- Check SAP for new customer contacts.

- Field visits or computer-based design work.

- Weekly scheduling meetings (Mon/Tues) and team touchpoints (Thurs).

- You will have varied daily tasks.

- Will support electric side and collaborate with service/gas designers.

- Supports external customers (residential and commercial).

- Collaborative office environment with idea sharing.

- You will have a mix of field and office work. Field work includes visits to residential, commercial, and construction sites.

- 30% field work (field assessments)

Who You Are:

- High School diploma or equivalent

- Basic electrical knowledge or background.

- Experience with GIS/AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required.

- Can have experience in different multiple backgrounds (construction, call center, police).

- Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus.

- Will use personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $28.00/hr. to $33.00/hr.
