A Crew Chief at Superior Energy Solutions, Inc. plays a pivotal role in our field operations. This position requires a valid driver's license and places you in charge of leading and guiding your assigned crew. You'll be responsible for ensuring all daily paperwork and time sheets are accurately completed, and it's essential to stay up-to-date on all required certifications and training. We are looking for individuals who can consistently demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, effectively manage and communicate with both your team members and our management and office staff, and uphold a high level of accountability and responsibility in all tasks. Your ability to lead, organize, and communicate will be key to the success of your crew and our projects.
Core Responsibilities:
•Team Leadership & Management:
•Direct and supervise a crew of technicians on job sites, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
•Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
•Train and mentor crew members, ensuring they develop necessary skills and knowledge.
•Monitor crew performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing constructive feedback.
•Project Execution & Oversight:
•Interpret work orders, scopes of work, schematics, and project specifications to ensure accurate and efficient installation and/or service.
•Plan and coordinate daily work activities, including delegating, material procurement, and equipment allocation.
•Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of weatherization services including but not limited to: insulation removal, mold remediation, weatherization, insulation installation, etc.
•Ensure all work is completed according to company and state agency program standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes (e.g., building codes, electrical codes, safety regulations).
•Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions to overcome on-site challenges.
•Conduct quality control pre and post inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of completed work.
•Enforce strict adherence to all company and state program safety policies and procedures.
•Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
•Identify and mitigate potential hazards on job sites, conducting risk assessments as needed.
•Lead incident investigations in the event of an accident or near-miss, implementing corrective actions.
•Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed and any work unable to be performed with just cause.
•Possess and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications relevant to the trade (e.g., OSHA, Confined Spaces, DOT Health Card, etc.).
•Customer Service & Communication:
•Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.
•Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions clearly and professionally to homeowners, as well as the management team.
•Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and maintaining a respectful and courteous demeanor.
•Document all interactions and resolutions in a timely and accurate manner.
•Administrative & Reporting:
•Complete daily work orders, CST's, checklists, time sheets, and other necessary documentation accurately and on time.
•Manage and track inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper usage and accountability.
•Provide regular updates to project managers or supervisors on job status, progress, and any significant issues..
•Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good working order, ensuring they are properly stocked and ready for use.
Qualifications (General):
•Proven experience in a leadership role with a reputable weatherization company.
•Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the specific field (e.g., weatherization, insulation, etc.).
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and schematics.
•Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
•Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. (Have or able to obtain a DOT Health Card)
•Relevant certifications and licenses (e.g., crew chief certification, lead safe, OSHA 10, confined spaces, etc.).
•Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
