About This Job

The Mechanical Crew Leader is responsible for leading seven Mechanic Specialists in the daily activities associated with maintaining, repairing, and overhauling natural gas compressor units and other associated equipment at Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) locations in Louisiana.

This is a great opportunity if you have experience performing maintenance and overhauls on compressors, reciprocating engines, turbines, pumps, and extruders from various manufacturers including Caterpillar, Ingersoll Rand, Clark Cooper Bessemer, and Solar or if you have similar experience working in Refinery, Manufacturing, Railroad or Pipeline industries or while serving our country in the Military.

As a working member of a work team, incumbent will manage or assist in the management of the work group to include mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, participating in employment and termination decisions, and providing technical training.

As a working member of a work team, incumbent will perform hands-on technician/technical work.
Responsible for compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company policies, specifications, and procedures.
Responsible for the development and implementation of job plans and cost effective work procedures.
Assists in the development of annual capital and O&M budgets.
Ensures projects are completed within prescribed budgets and time constraints.
As a company representative, willingly interact with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, customers, suppliers, and contractors.

Position Requirements


Minimum Requirements:


Education

High School Diploma or GED


Experience/Specific Knowledge

Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours including after dark hours, which may require carrying a communication device.
Knowledge of compressor, pump stations, gas treatment, storage facilities, process plant, gather transmission, pipeline system operations.
Knowledge reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess and maintain a valid driver license, and maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.

Physical Demands, must be able to:

Lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Exert up to 100 lbs. of physical force.
Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and squat for extended periods of time.
Twist head and back for extended periods of time.
Work in areas classified as confined space.
Climb and work from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms.
Ascend and descend slopes and ditches.
Work with hands above head.
Work lying on back.
Work in adverse weather and/or extreme temperature conditions.


Working Conditions

The regular work schedule is four ten hour days per week.
The position requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends.
May work in low-lit areas
Work requirements include; good dexterity and mobility to function in climbing, bending, kneeling, working with hands extended above the head, twisting of the upper body, standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions and lifting.
Overnight travel away from the reporting location is required up to 80% of the time.
Required to carry company cell phone and respond to calls, text messages, and emails as needed.
The position requires the operation of a company vehicle.
