As our Controller, you will be the financial leader of the company, a key member of the management team, and a strategic partner in our success. You won't just oversee day-to-day accounting; you'll play a critical role in shaping our financial future, strengthening our internal controls, and ensuring we operate with the highest level of integrity. This is a hands-on leadership position for a professional who is ready to have a direct impact on the success of an employee-owned business.
- Manage and lead a team of 20 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the management team.
- Research and provide annual financial projections and forecasts to guide strategic business decisions.
- Identify and implement new financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and productivity across the Accounting Department.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts and compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate and support all external audits, including those for the business financials, 401(k), and our ESOP.
- Serve as a key liaison with our banking institutions, managing loans and other financial priorities.
- Oversee company credit card programs and the expense reimbursement process, ensuring compliance and timely reconciliation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred.
- At least 5+ years of proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior-level accounting role.- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP).
- Demonstrated experience managing a team and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
