- Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and transparency.
- Lead the development and implementation of the company’s annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Provide detailed analysis and projections related to revenue, costs, and capital expenditures to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor and report on performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Oversee cost accounting processes related to production and inventory, including the valuation of raw materials, finished goods, and works in progress.
- Conduct margin analysis, identify cost drivers, and suggest cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
- Collaborate with operations to monitor and optimize production costs, efficiency, and inventory management.
- Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring the timely collection of receivables and payment of liabilities.
- Optimize working capital and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet the company’s operational needs.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions and ensure the company has access to necessary credit lines or financing options.
- Partner with senior leadership to support long-term strategic planning and decision-making.
- Evaluate capital investments, acquisitions, and divestitures to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational efficiency and business expansion.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Continuously review and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's technical skills and industry knowledge.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role, preferably in the aggregate, mining, or construction materials industries.
- Location: Eagle, Idaho (this is not a remote opportunity).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and budgeting in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders. Leadership skills with experience in team management.
