Overall Job Purpose:
The CM Maintenance Coordinator supports all areas of mine operations, with a primary focus on equipment in up to five Continuous Miner sections. This role is responsible for ensuring effective maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Promote and model a safety-first mindset in all activities.
•Identify and implement standard best practices across maintenance operations.
•Lead rigorous planning processes for:
•Routine inspections and repairs
•Major component tracking
•Equipment overhauls and replacements
•Major maintenance work and shutdowns
•Apply preventative and predictive maintenance philosophies.
•Demonstrate superior planning, scheduling, and forecasting skills.
•Develop and execute disciplined, planned maintenance strategies.
•Coordinate within the department to achieve a goal of 80% planned work.
•Create clear, time-bound work and action plans.
•Develop and maintain a competent maintenance program focused on continuous improvement.
•Maintain an accurate equipment register and understand equipment life cycles.
•Oversee rebuild progress by visiting rebuild sites.
•Maintain strong communication with vendor support teams.
•Contribute to budgeting efforts aligned with maintenance strategies.
•Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to reduce cost per ton.
•Participate in review meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
•Develop and deliver Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Testing Procedures (STPs).
•Assess employee performance and deliver training programs.
•Develop a succession plan, including training a step-up Continous Miner Maintenance Coordinator (CMMC) for coverage during absences.
•Collaborate with maintenance leadership to organize crews and allocate talent across shifts and outages.
•Foster collaboration across procurement, logistics, and operations to achieve unified goals.
•Continuously seek performance improvements through new technologies.
•Communicate CM section status with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant leaders.
•Demonstrate a mindset of extreme ownership.
•Ensure industry-leading performance in availability, cost per ton, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).

Preferred Education & Experience:
•Must have or be able to obtain Utah Mine Foreman Certification and U/G Electrical Certification.
•Proven experience in maintenance systems and mine equipment repair.
•Leadership experience managing multiple front-line supervisors.
•Background in production operations and crew management.
•Strong understanding of MSHA regulations and local laws.
•Mechanics, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and electrical systems
•Diesel equipment troubleshooting and testing
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and SAP.
•Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
•Positive attitude and commitment to team success.
