Job Summary
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide leadership and guidance to the department to ensure safe, productive, and efficient operation. You will be accountable for supporting developed strategies to meet goals through asset management systems, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Safety
As a supervisor, you play a vital role in setting the expectations related to safety in your area. Your team will observe and respond to your actions and leadership direction related to safety. You are ultimately accountable for the establishment of and adherence to safe working procedures in your department. Your responsibilities include:
•Ensuring your team meticulously documents incident reports, communicates lessons learned, and adheres to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance department.
•Facilitating and participating in Pre-Start meetings, work area inspections, Critical Control Verifications (CCV’s), job hazard analyses (JHAs), incident investigations, and non-routine task safety outlines.
•Ensuring that your team is familiar with all current safety procedures for your area.
•Confirming that regular safety meetings are held and documented with action items identified, prioritized, and executed.
•Verifying that personal protective equipment is in good condition and properly used.
•Ensuring that all personnel performing work on assets have assessed risks in writing and have this documentation readily available.
•Consistently demonstrating appropriate safety behavior ('walking the talk' and embodying departmental Vital Behaviors).
People
You are accountable for the actions and behavior of your team. You will:
•Clearly communicate the strategy and plans to your team, ensuring all team members understand how their activities relate to the overall objectives of the mine site and corporate vision.
•Verify that your team members have the right tools to perform their jobs effectively.
•Provide timely and constructive feedback to your team, clearly explaining any required follow-up actions.
•Offer ongoing recognition and coaching to your subordinates, acknowledging achievements and process improvements through verbal communication and other motivational incentive programs.
•Ensure that all subordinates are properly inducted and possess the required skills, training, and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively and safely.
•Identify skill deficiencies and initiate corrective action.
Key Deliverables
+ Perform Pre-Start meetings, covering all required sections of the pre-start line-out board. Engage employee participation and review scheduled tasks to identify all associated Fatal Risks and review critical controls.
+ Complete and record work area inspections before the commencement of any tasks in all applicable work areas.
+ Attend, participate in, or facilitate the Daily 24-Hour Review meeting to review the previous 24 hours of scheduled and unscheduled work orders, ensuring adherence to proper process flow from creation to closure. Review down and scheduled equipment lists to determine work priorities and resource allocation.
+ Review pre-operational cards to identify noted deficiencies and ensure all deficiencies are captured in SAP. Create notifications/work orders based on urgency.
+ Provide weekly equipment status updates to all key stakeholders and manage the weekly down sheet report.
+ Demonstrate Visible Felt Leadership by engaging with employees in the field, providing support, and conducting CCVs.
+ Attend scheduling meetings, providing feedback, suggestions, and recommendations on the proposed schedule.
+ Coordinate equipment services with the appropriate owners' representatives to ensure equipment availability at the time of service. Document and follow up on all missed services.
+ Support parts order and service order processes as required.
+ Review the status of all work orders for the day to ensure required information has been entered and the order is in the correct status based on the work performed. Review all open orders in the appropriate planner group through SAP. Review all physical copy work orders for the shift to ensure all checks have been completed and signed off.
+ Support training and development of the Maintenance team with SAP, Dingo, UAT, and NDT processes.
+ Support and provide training on the use of iPads and all applications related to preventative inspections and reporting.
+ Manage annual software licenses for E.T, Cummins Insight, SIS, etc. Create purchase orders and support required updates.
+ Support SAP training with execution supervisors and technicians, ensuring consistency in role access.
+ Review ZGWOS management to ensure consistency between all crews and support training on the work order step process from creation to completion.
+ Perform/support the contractor onboarding process, complete vehicle inspections, conduct site-specific training, and cover onboarding presentations on all applicable sections.
+ Manage team PTO and OT requests to ensure appropriate resources are available for business needs.
+ Conduct a minimum of 30 CCVs per month (targets tied to team/personal bonus payout percentages).
+ Support team STIP/CI projects and complete a minimum of one project per month.
+ Perform personal and team annual/semi-annual performance review steps.
+ Participate in/facilitate monthly CBAM & Dingo Trakka meetings, engaging technicians in the process to promote development & understanding.
+ Support business partner relationships to identify new product or process support. Facilitate/participate in site visits, inspections, and coordination meetings, and communicate learnings to stakeholders.
Education:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Relevant trade school diploma or certificate preferred
Experience:
•Minimum of 5+ years of relevant Maintenance supervisory experience
•Proficient in heavy diesel mechanic systems and repair
•Experience in equipment/maintenance budget management
Skills and Abilities:
•Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills.
•Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
•Experience in Cat SIS, Cummins Insight, My Komatsu, etc. preferred
Working Conditions & Location
•Position based in the United States at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County Colorado.
•Ability to alter work schedule when required.
•Must be able to work at high altitude.
•Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.
