REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
•Crew Chiefs/Foreman are selected by and report to the In-house Superintendent, Colt.

ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Safety
•Responsible for safety of all crew members.
•Create a safety culture within his/her crew.
•Ensures safety guidelines are followed on job site as described in Colt’s employee safety handbook.
People
•Manage his/her crew members.
•Takes appropriate action to develop and maintain a culture of teamwork and excellence.
•Responsible for training and performance evaluations to develop his/her crew members.
•Confers with supervisory personnel and crew members to resolve complaints and grievances within workforce.
Job Description
•Studies kick off sheets, plans and specifications to plan procedures for construction on a daily basis.
•Directs resources (crew, equipment and materials) onsite for assigned construction jobs to ensure jobs are produced according to specifications, on schedule and with excellent quality.
•Interfaces with engineers, inspectors and contractors on job site and ensures procedures are followed.
•Responsible for ensuring accurate job cost reporting which includes tracking material and equipment used on the job site and reporting via daily job tickets.
•Responsible for the orderly upkeep and maintenance of crew truck and tools.
•Identifies and reports conditions adverse to project performance including safety, cost, and schedule deviations, nonconforming items, conditions or activities.
•Immediately notifies appropriate management (Superintendent, Production Manager, or Sales Personnel) of conditions above that cannot be resolved at the specific project level.
•Communicate in a professional manner with all stakeholders.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Work 8-10 hour days outside in the heat and cold.
•Lead and manage a crew of workers to complete asphalt and concrete paving jobs.
•Operate core equipment (paver, backhoe, skid loader, roller, mill machine).
•Read plans, set and meet elevations and slopes.
•Willing to work weekends as needed.
•Comfortable with using a tablet and work related apps.
•Able to operate heavy equipment.
•Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
•Minimum 5 years leading a crew in concrete and/or asphalt paving.
•Minimum 5 years operating equipment.
