Join Our Team as a Concrete Dispatcher in Prince George
Kode Concrete is seeking a Concrete Dispatcher to coordinate the daily scheduling and dispatch of ready-mix concrete deliveries from our Prince George plant. This role is central to our day-to-day operations—supporting accurate order entry, ticketing/documentation, and basic accounts-related administration.
The right candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and customer-focused, with the ability to communicate effectively with unionized drivers, plant personnel, contractors, and customers in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Receive and process customer orders quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment
- Schedule and dispatch mixer and pump trucks to job sites, sequencing loads to meet pour requirements and maximize fleet utilization
- Coordinate delivery schedules with drivers, customers, contractors, and plant personnel
- Maintain communication throughout the delivery process, providing updates and resolving service concerns
- Monitor job progress and adjust dispatch in real time based on traffic, weather, jobsite readiness, and operational constraints
- Manage schedule changes, delays, and day-of adjustments
- Support quality standards and regulatory compliance during the delivery process
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers when required
- Work with the Batchman to resolve delivery or product issues efficiently
- Escalate safety issues, incidents, or service failures promptly to the Operations Manager
- Complete dispatching documentation, reports, and required order/sales forwarding
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to improve service, product delivery, and trucking efficiency
- Enter orders into the dispatch/order system, including project details and delivery instructions
- Maintain clear dispatch records, including customer communications and exceptions/changes
- Support ticket administration (verify returned tickets, match tickets to orders, follow up on missing information, resolve discrepancies)
- Provide product and delivery documentation requested by customers
- Scan and file delivery tickets, bills of lading (BOLs), and payment documentation
- Answer routine customer questions related to deliveries, credit, invoicing, and account balances
- Provide administrative support related to accounting processes tied to orders and deliveries
- Flag pricing, credit, tax, or billing discrepancies for review by the appropriate supervisor/accounting contact
- Maintain accurate records in line with internal controls and document retention practices
- Work respectfully and professionally with unionized drivers and plant staff while following site rules and operating procedures
- Protect confidential customer and company information
- Support safety policies and contribute to a safety-first culture- Minimum 2+ years of dispatch, logistics coordination, construction operations coordination, or similar experience (ready-mix/concrete experience strongly preferred).
- General knowledge of the properties, characteristics, and performance of concrete mixes, its components, additives, and raw materials an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (phone, radio, email).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- High attention to detail for order entry, ticketing, and documentation.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn dispatch software quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
- Knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns.
- Availability for early starts, overtime, and peak-season demands.
- Experience supporting invoicing or accounts administration (A/R support, receipting, reconciliation).
- Familiarity with construction jobsite workflows and dispatch routing.
- Knowledge of Prince George and surrounding areas.
