About This Job

About Willmeng

Since 1977, Arizona-based commercial general contractor Willmeng Construction has been committed to staying true to building excellence and preserving the company's high value to the clients we serve. Willmeng gives back to our community and has been recognized for a multitude of awards for project excellence and company culture including Contractor of the Year by AZRE Magazine, #1 General Contractor by Ranking Arizona, Best Workplace by Inc. Magazine, General Contractor of the Year by NAIOP, and Best Places to Work by Phoenix Business Journal.

Our strategic vision focuses on three fundamental aspects: supporting prelease transactions, maintaining our ability to competitively bid projects small and large, and fostering the "altruistic service" corporate culture established by recruiting highly talented individuals of great character.

The Role

The Compliance Specialist ensures that subcontractors adhere to company policies, contract requirements, and applicable regulations. Key responsibilities include managing subcontractor documentation, monitoring compliance, and supporting the payment process. This role involves close collaboration with the operations, accounting, project, and estimating teams. The position reports to the Accounting Operations Manager and offers a hybrid work schedule—four days in the office and one day remote—after the training period.

What you will accomplish

Manage subcontractor compliance documentation, including collection, review, and approval of required documents (e.g., lien waivers, insurance certificates, 20-day preliminary notices).
Utilize Textura software to process subcontractor pay applications, track payment status, and ensure timely payments.
Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract terms, insurance requirements, and other project-specific obligations.
Maintain accurate and organized records of subcontractor compliance activities and documentation within Textura.
Communicate with subcontractors to address compliance-related inquiries, resolve issues, and provide guidance on Textura procedures.
Collaborate with project managers, accounting staff, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and distribute regular reports on subcontractor compliance status.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in subcontractor compliance management.
Assist in audits of subcontractor compliance records.

What we would like you to have

Bachelor's degree a plus.
2+ years of experience in subcontractor compliance, contract administration, or construction administration.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and apply contract terms and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including professional phone etiquette and the ability to engage in effective conversations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred: Strong working knowledge of Textura software, Procore and Sage 300.
Preferred: Knowledge of construction industry regulations and compliance requirements.
